1. documentation:

I have been creating a custom profile and using the documentation page here:

There's a useful setting that is not documented:

showOnRegistration="true"

When used with requiredForRegistration="false" this allows fields to be displayed on the registration page, without being mandatory.

2. an observation and question:

I want to modify your gender example to require the user to specify gender, but without setting a default value of M or F. Using your example from the docs page, the user can get in without specifying gender, presumably because of the default <Option value="" TextResourceKey="GenderUnselectedLabel"></Option>

So I thought I'd add a regexp validation like so: regexValidationExpression="M|F"

but it has no effect and does not render into the page. Regex validation appears not to work on profile settings that use drop-down lists.

Any suggestions?
