Header logo replacement with html

Header logo replacement with html

I know it is some where mentioned about hard coding the header block with html. Can some one send the link or more information on this. What am trying to do is instead one header.jpg file am trying to make the header block into 3 divs so I can separate one for header logo the other for contact and then the last for shopping cart image/link, etc. Any leads on this are really helpful.

just edit the layout.master with a text editor remove the <portal:SiteLogo and replace it with html that you type in. You could view the source of the page while <portal:SiteLogo is still there and copy the html it generated to use as a starting point if you want to. I don't believe there is a document because its simple common sense.
