membership system with categories and profiles

membership system with categories and profiles

If someone can lead me in the right direction on this I would really appreciate it.

I need to develop a simple membership database so I can place companies in specific categories and have a short profile.  The members would need to be searchable by category and free text search with paging enabled.

Does MOJO have anything that could do this that I should be aware of or should I be building a custom feature and an entirely separate admin for someone to manage profiles and categories?

just an update - I was reading the documentation on the "User Profile system" and how to set profile info using the config file.  It looks as though I could add business categories and additional business profile info items.

If I go this direction to create a membership database would I eventually be able to search and sort members by category using the "User Profile system" approach.

I guess I am asking if a custom membership database is not what MOJO was intended for and if I should just make my own separate system and just use an iframe to display it in mojo?

Has anyone used MOJO to manage a simple member database for example like a networking group?
