Low speed in downloading the home page

  • What operating system were you running when the bug appeared?
  • What database platform is your site using?
  • What version of mojoPortal are you running?
  • What version of .NET do you use?
  • What steps are necessary to reproduce the issue? Compare expected results vs actual results.

Low speed in downloading the home page

Hello Everyone,

I am noticing that the download time for the first page is very high (15/20+ seconds). I made several tests form 2 different internet providers.

1. The simple ASP and html pages are very fast to be downloaded and shown.

2. Although in the very first page (Home Page) there is nothing written (till under construction), the downloaded data size is about 800K. Which does not explain anyway the time spent to appear to the user.

3. I am using MS SQL service together with the hosting service.

 

My questions :

is it a my probable fault during installation or is it my provider's fault (connection between Web server and MS SQL server too slow?).

My two under construction web site:

www.it-lab.it/default.aspx

www.volontarioprotezionecivile.it/defaut.aspx

 

Thank to anyone may help me to understand if I had to move my websites elsewhere.

thank you for both of you pieces of advice. I modified the web config as suggested and my web site goes no more in "screen saver" mode...

I also took note of wasitup.com service. It is interesting as well.

 

Now my websites are prompt!
