2.3.6.6 Site Map question?

Hey guys,

Something I notice is that when a page is set as non-clickable in the menu but included in the sitemap so that its' children will expand, you can still navigate to the non-clickable page from the sitemap. Is there some way to change this behavior, such that the non-clickable page is in the sitemap as a root for its' children, but non-clickable in the sitemap? User's shouldn't be able to reach a non-clickable page, ever, right? :)

Thanks!

Re: 2.3.6.6 Site Map question?

Hi Duane,

The unclickable technique is just a cosmetic technique using javascript, it is not a security setting. Someone who navigates directly to the page (or if they have javascript disabled it won't be unclickable) will see the page. So what I usually do is enable the Child Pages Site Map on unclickable pages so that if anyone does land there all they see is a menu for the child pages.

In previous versions there was not a way to make links in the TreeView menus such as Site Map unclickable in the same way as other menus, but it is possible now, I've just updated the article Unclickable Menu Items to provide steps to to enable it on the Site Map.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Yup! That'll do it! Many thanks, Joe; didn't realize there was an article covering it. Just read your update to it; just what the doctor ordered!

Best always!

Duane
