Image gallery folder mode

i've been searching a way to implement some more user friendly prev and next image on the image gallery.

what i was thinking consists on, like the parent image that has a arrow, making the prev and next image have a arrow pointing the sides like <- and ->

anyway of implementing this? or at least a bit help redirecting me to what i should be searching in dept?
