two issues, slide show in html content and site search activation

I am rather a beginner in mojo and I have two issues I would appreciate any help with ... 

Fisrt, I have slide show activated in an html content and it seems like if I link (sliding) items those links do not work.  Is that how it is or is there a solution ?

Second, it seems like my site search does not work (no results when it should definitely have some).  Do I need to do anything to activate it, or some other solution.

Hi, for the links issue, look at the Using the HTML Content Module document, at the bottom of the "Slide Show Settings" section.

If search isn't working, it's probably an issue with your file permission settings. Your whole web tree should be read only to the App Pool user/process, but /Data and /App_Data need to be read/write. You can check these permissions in Administrator, Security Advisor. Use the link to check file permissions.
