Multiple homepage links issue

Hi there,

I have observed that the link to homepage becomes multiple for example:

mysite.com/

and

mysite.com/default.aspx

 

This is not good wrt SEO.

The site with default.aspx extension appears on the site title on the banner. Where can I change it to mysite.com/.  I mean putting only  "/".

However, can i also modify the url that is on the title banner right now from /default.aspx to '/' please?

You can do that in your layout.master file. If you view the source of the page and copy the markup that is there now for the title or logo, then edit your layout.master file and remove <portal:SiteTitle and/or <portal:SiteLogo and paste the markup in there where the control was. Then edit the markup as you like including the url.

Hi Joe,

As a temporary solution, i had done that while I created this thread.

You have provided the title override feature that wont work with this hardcoding :(

Please suggest.

I don't understand you. I think you are confusing Site Title with Page Title. Site Title is in layout.master and links to the default page of the site, that is what you first asked about in this thread.

Page Title only appears in the title bar or tabs of the web browser and comes from the <title></title> in the head and it does not link anywhere. You can override page title from page settings and you can override site title from layout.master.
