Shared files - files d/ling as HTML / XML

mojoPortal Version 2.3.5.1 MSSQL (SQL 2005)
Operating System Microsoft Windows NT 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2
ASP.NET Version v4.0.30319 Running in Full Trust

Hi guys - I'm having trouble with shared files. Whenever I upload and try and download, the file type is being reported as HTML in IE and XML in FireFox.

I've installed this build onto an identical web server on the domain where I work, but I've moved it into the DMZ now - and that's where the problem seems to be occurring. I've had no problems with this feature on several other installs (mostly dev none in production).

Anyone have any thoughts as to what might be causing this? I'm stumped.

Re: Shared files - files d/ling as HTML / XML

Hmm - if I upload and don't rename the file, I can download it.

If I rename to a more 'friendly' name and remove the file extension I get the HTML/XML download.. Renaming to a legitimate filename with for instance a .xls extension, it works.

Doesn't sound like a bug to me at all if you remove the extension then it does not know what kind of file it is. You should keep the original file extension. The mime type of the file is determined by the extension and that is how the browser knows what to do with the file.
