Enabled Comments and Rating on a selection of pages

I may be missing a documented way of doing this so I apologize if I did.

I would like to enable both rating and comments across an existing subset of pages

All pages are below a specific parent page

Can this be done via Administration? Or would this have to be done via SQL?

I generated these pages some time ago and would like to enable this feature to get user feedback on the documentation

Re: Enabled Comments and Rating on a selection of pages

Hi Al,

You would have to enable those options on each page. There isn't a way to do it for all children of a particular parent page.

You could enable it through SQL, if you are proficient with such things. I don't recommend for the average user to do this but I don't think you're quite the average user. :-)

HTH,
Joe D.

Re: Enabled Comments and Rating on a selection of pages

Comments (Disquss or IntenseDebate) can be enabled at the page level but ratings are only possible at the feature instance level, ie you would have to enable it on the Html content instance. Ratings also has comments integrated so you may not want the page comments in that case but rating comments are not seen by the public whereas the other comment system is visible to users.

Best,

Joe

Re: Enabled Comments and Rating on a selection of pages

Joe A

Thanks for the clarification on the rating comments I had assumed (incorrectly) that these were public, private comments would be exactly what I would want.

I will disable the Page comments and just roll with the rating comments

Thanks again guys

Al
