HTML Content Order

Every time I create a new content in a page it order its last. How can I put that the new content that I create comes out in first not last?

Re: HTML Content Order

Hi,

You can use the arrow buttons to move the content up in the list. There isn't a way to default new content to be first in the list.

Re: HTML Content Order

The arrows are good but not after I have like 20 items, I have to click them one by one to get it to be first.

Re: HTML Content Order

I will add a wish list item in our project tracker. I think we could add buttons for move to top and move to bottom in the Add/Edit Pages page. The buttons would move a page to the top of its sub tree at whatever depth the page is, ie it won't go above its parent page if it is a child page but would move to the top child spot under the parent page.

There are probably even better solutions we can come up with in the long run but this solution could be implemented in the near term.

Best,

Joe

Re: HTML Content Order

Hey Joe, one other "nice to have" that's somewhat related to this: If possible, the feature moving arrow tool on "Edit This Page" should keep the feature highlighted after it's moved. This would make it work the same way as the Add/Edit Pages page moving arrow tool.

It's not that often that you rearrange features on a page, but it's one of those nagging annoyances that seems like it could be resolved pretty easily.

Thanks,

Jamie

Re: HTML Content Order

Remember I'm not talking about ordering pages, I mean ordering content in a page.

Re: HTML Content Order

Hi,

Sorry I thought you were talking about new pages.

If you are putting 20 instances of content features on a page that is a really bad idea, you will end up with like 40 hits to the database to create the page content so it isn't meant to have that many items. Particularly if you are putting 20 instances of Html content feature on a a page you should consider consolidating them into fewer items and using Content templates to create layouts within an instance of Html feature. Like on th ehome page for this site it may look like 3 instances of Html but it is only 1 instance that has 3 column layout done within the instance.

Hope it helps,

Joe
