Microsoft Web Platform Installer version is old

Hi!

Microsoft Web Platform Installer version is 2.3.5.5 and version .8 has been around for almost a month.

mojoportal-2-3-5-8-b-mssql-net40-deploymentfiles.zip
application, 21375K, uploaded Dec 15 2010 - 1260 downloads

Guess it is someone in Microsoft who updates de PI, but can you drop'em a note? "Hey new version is out!"

Hope they don't take too long... hate the manual install process... with PI it takes me 5 seconds to install 100 mojoportal's! Ok, not 5 seconds... maybe 11 seconds...

Thanks!

Adelino

Re: Microsoft Web Platform Installer version is old

Hi Adelino,

It usually takes a week or 2 after submitting a new version to the Web App Gallery before it gets published, but in this instance it is my fault because I have not submitted the new version because it came out near the holidays and we usually make a new release every month so now we are like only 2 weeks away from the next release so I plan to wait for that release to submit an update to the gallery.

Note however, that if you are installing on your local machine or a dedicated server via remote desktop with IIS you can install the latest version of mojoPortal downloaded from Codeplex using the Platform Installer as indicated in this document. All of our packages released on Codeplex are msbuild packages and can be installed easily using this method, it does not have to come from the Web App Gallery.

Hope it helps,

Joe
