Feature for Related Content

Hello!

I search for a feature to get related content of my mojoportal. I have a portal in development which has nearly 500 pages, transfered from Typo3.

Does anybody have an idea?

Hi Stephan,

We don't have such a feature currently. In the blog we have a category system but it is not very good. We have it on our road map to make a new content tagging/category system which will replace the one in our blog and will also be something we can integrate into other content features. Then it will be possible to come up with solutions to show similar items based on the items having the same tags.

Hi Joe,

I've developing experiences in C# (a little wink) and I think I can create a function. I've tested some code fragments an checked them for my idea. If i can get the content of all HTML-Modules on the current page, it will be easy to check this content for repeating words an so on. Is there a function in the source code to get the content of current modules or have I check in the database manually?!

Sorry, I don't have a good solution that I would recommend right now.

You can do what you like and maybe find a way to achieve your goal, but I don't recommend forking the source code, if you do that it will be very difficult for you to upgrade to new versions of mojoPortal.

Only thing that comes to mind is if you clone the Html feature and make your own version that is independent of the Html feature in mojoPortal. Then at least your customizations are separate from mojoPortal code so you can still upgrade.

Hey all

I'd like the idea of related content too, I've just nipped on to suggest the same thing myself and seen this.

I wonder if it could work similar to the blog road map where you'd tag content - you could then create a "Related Content" module that could be dropped onto a page, with the settings accepting an input for certain tags (comma separated) or even a radio / dropdown list so that you can pull content into this module from throughout the site based on what content has been previously tagged with.

Even tag pages too in their settings so that the Related Content module pulls data through and links either to pages based on page tags, or pages based on tags found within the modules on them?

Great for large sites.
