I agree with you it would be nice if the editor(s) worked that way, but wysiwyg editors are a complicated thing, we just use ones developed by others like CKeditor, TinyMCE, so something like this would have to be added by the developers of the wysiwyg. You could post this request in the forums for CKeditor or TinyMCE, however I imagine it would be quite difficult to maintain cursor position when changing views like that and kind of doubt they will ever do it, but it might be worth asking them.
