"double" menu!

Hi Joe and everybody,

Is it possible to use at same time "superfish menu" and a secondary (static) vertical menu (that contains the sub pages of a main menu item) in the pages??? I mean the result should be a mix of "michinson-earthy" and (ie) "styleshout-refresh" skins.

Thanks

Less than helpful post removed. See below for solution and an example site using this technique.

Re: "double" menu!

Actually this should be possible. Use SiteMenu as configured in mitchinson-earthy and use PageMenu as configured in styelshout-refresh. you will need to also harvest the stylemenu.css from styleshout-refresh (or it might be styletreevew.css)

The result will be a horizontal menu with flyout sub menus and a vertical menu showing child pages of the current page and duplicating some of the menu items in the main superfish menu.

Best,

Joe

Re: "double" menu!

I can confirm this is defnitely possible. I have done this several times in the past. A good example is this site: http://anchorcenter.org/what-we-do.aspx.

All you need to do is follow the instructions for adding a SuperFish menu here: http://www.mojoportal.com/using-superfish-menus.aspx. You can make these changes to your skin that already has a vertical pagemenu and you should be good to go. I can post the relevant stuff from the AnchorCenter skin here, if you need it for reference.

HTH,
Joe D.

Re: "double" menu!

Hey Joe, thanks for that update and especially the example site. Seeing it visually makes a lot more sense to me why you'd want to do something like this. I'll edit my earlier response for future visitors to this thread.

Re: "double" menu!

Hi guys!

Definitely! Thanks to Joe'n'Joe :-) support... i've implemented this feature!
@Joe Davis: My starting point was "mitchinson-earthy"...so I followed the instructions in reverse.

I added the control portal:pagemenu in my layout.master (taken from "styleshout-refresh"'s layout.master) than i made some tuning on css files...et voilà!

Great!
I will show my work when it's finished.

Best,

Silvio

Re: "double" menu!

Hi Joe,

AnchorCenter looks very well. It would be really nice if you could post the relevant stuff for this skin. I think it would be a good reference for similar web sites. Thanks a lot.

Best,

Erhan
