ad hoc emails

Hi All,

I've a client who would like to be able to send ad-hoc messages to users (individually selected users or role members) without having to go through the whole newsletter subscription process.

It strikes me that I'm probably not the first person to have to do this, so before I plunge any further into development I thought I'd just ask whether anyone's already done this, or has advice as to the best approach.

I've begun developing a separate admin page but looking at the newsletter system there's a lot of sophisticated stuff going on in there - wonder if I might be better off customizing that (e.g. by giving it the ability to create a temporary newsletter on the fly and pass that through to SendLetter for processing)

Anyway all thoughts welcome!

Ian
