Can mojo handle this?

Hi,

I have now tried your example site and its looks really nice! There is however some things I need to know before I go any futher to install it.

The CMS site will be the company site and the requirements we have is :

  • Easy to install and move (I supose that the Virtual Folder is not a problem anymore in Windows7 and windows2008?)
  • Usermanagement with a rolesystem (if you are not approved by us you will not enter the site)
  • File Manager where we can uppload our diffrent versions of our products
  • Forum bound to the UserManagment system
  • WebTV direcly on the site
  • WebChat direcly on the site
  • News feed with RSS/Email notifications
  • Easy to administrate(create pages, news manage users) for non developers.
  • Easy publising of documents
  • Easy to develop special modules with Visual Studio

I know already that much of this functionality is suported but I woud be glad if you could varify it.

BestRegards
Snowman

Re: Can mojo handle this?

Hi,

I would put a check by all the items on your list except WebTV, I don't know what you mean by that. I embed videos all the time from YouTube but we don't currently have a video player or management of videos. Lots of video software can produce the html markup with a Flash video player, so you can upload and embed camtasia videos or things like that.

We have RSS feeds in the blog feature but currently it does not give email notifications. We do have a newsletter feature but it is not tied in with other content or features.

However I would caution that a checklist with all items checked may or may not mean it really meets your specific needs, your idea of these features may or may not be aligned with how they work, you really need to evaluate it yourself with your customer to determine that.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Can mojo handle this?

All we are doing with YouTube is embedding it in an html module. One could just as easily make a video with Camtasia or some other tool, they usually can generate the html embed code which typically also involves a flash movie that is used as the video player. The video and the video player could be uploaded and the html can be embedded though you may need to modify the embed code to have the correct paths for where you upload the videos.

So, yes, you could use other videos or locally hosted videos, the advantage of YouTube is that you offload the bandwidth required for serving the video to them, and you create an opportunity for YouTube to drive traffic to your site.
