Shared Files bullk upload query

Hi Joe / Everyone

I've a new site I'm working on and we've set up a client area which works brilliantly. However, we're using the Shared Files module, categorising our uploads into their respective cats and then uploading files where required.

Problem is, we have over 700 small files to upload (.dwg files, I've tweaked Web.Config to allow) and it's going to take a long long time to upload!

Is there arnyway of bulk uploading to any given folder within a Shared Files module? I notice I can only select a single file to upload when my brwoser launches the upload box.

If not, any plans to implement this?

Thanks

Mark

Re: Shared Files bullk upload query

Hi Mark,

You should be able to do this if you have flash installed. Just select multiple files when the dialog opens. If you can't, please post your browser version and operating system so we can look into it.

Thanks,
Joe D.

Re: Shared Files bullk upload query

Cheers Joe,

It's via the Shared Files module not the File Manager, got Flash installed and it's only letting me upload one at a time. Incidentally it doesn't look like it's using Flash for the upload.

I have Firefox 3.6.3 running Snow Leopard.

Thanks

Mark

Re: Shared Files bullk upload query

Hi Mark,

It does work, but you won't see anything Flashy. Just use the Ctrl button and select multiple files, or if you don't have Flash you can still bulk upload but you have to click the add file button for each file before clicking upload. It will bulk upload into whatever folder you are in in the Shared Files when you click upload.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Shared Files bullk upload query

Hi Joe

Just tried that out and neither seem to work, not sure if I've missed something?

I'm using the Mac so tried CTRL, CMD, Shift and combos of all 3. Also, I fired up XP and same issue...

How bizarre!

If you like I can PM you a username & PWD if you like to take a quick browse?

Thanks

Mark

Re: Shared Files bullk upload query

Hi Andrew,

What version of mojoPortal?

Look under Administration > System Information

I would make sure the file exists in your installation at /NeatUpload/SWFUpload.swf

if it doesn't exist, get it from the mojoportal download.

Also try it on demo.mojoportal.com and let me know if it works there for you or not.

Best,

Joe

Re: Shared Files bullk upload query

Hi Joe

Checked it on the MP demo site; works fine. I'll chec the NeatUpload files are in place when I get back to the office. I notice on the demo site you get the progress popup where I don't; I am testing on a different machine so could be a pop up blocker on my office machine but thought it prudent to mention.

Thanks

Re: Shared Files bullk upload query

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately, if you are in medium trust hosting NeatUpload will not work so bulk upload also will not work.

Best,

Joe

Re: Shared Files bullk upload query

Ahhh that makes sense Joe, cant believe I missed that; common sense after reading the medium trust literature on here.

Thanks for the help.

Mark
