About Google Translate

Hi,

I'm using google transle on my site. A bar appears on the page, I want does not appear. Because it's bar at the top of the page design is disturbing.

What can I do?

Hi Volkan,

I'm afraid the only solution is to not use google translate. I also was using it and for a long time did not realize that the toolbar was always shown if the user browser language was not set to English. I removed it from my site after I realized that is how it works.

Hey guys, I've been experimenting with the Google translate control, and have been playing around with the Google Translate Tools page to configure it just the way I want. In my explorations, I saw that there is actually a way to turn that auto banner off. In the Advanced section, look for the check box "Automatically display the translation banner for the users speaking other languages than your page language".

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for that, I think they must have added those settings recently. I will integrate those options for the next release.

It is slightly better that it can be configured to not show the toolbar by default if the user's browser language is different than the page content.

However, in that situation it still shows the toolbar if the user chooses to translate the page, I still wish there was a way to make it not do that.

I also like the new layout options for the widget and the ability to track translation activity in google analytics.
