look in the log for clues, Administration > System Log

After clicking the key it should be listed as System Log

However, if its a multi site installation, the log is only available from the root site.

The log file is located at /Data/currentlog.config, you can download it by ftp and open it with a text editor.

Note that if you move a page, it only moves within its sub tree relative to its parent page. So if you move it up to be the first child it cannot go any higher unless you change it to a root level page with no parent.

I agree it would be an annoying problem, however I cannot reproduce it. If you can produce the problem and show me on demo.mojoportal.com I will investigate it as a bug for sure.

Otherwise, the only thing I can think of to help is to recommend that you try our latest build mojoportal-build-2009-11-06-mssql.zip available from our Novell Forge download page. I'm running this build on this site and on demo.mojoportal.com.
