Image gallery "bulk upload" link

MP: 2.3.1.9, MSSQL

When using the Simple Image Gallery the link for "Bulk upload" appears even when not logged in as shown here:
http://hoc.test-web-site.com/1testimonials.aspx

This link is showing up when using the module on other MP sites of mine as well so i don't think it's a CSS issue. Not sure, anyone else see this?

Re: Image gallery "bulk upload" link

Hi Erik,

When did you download 2.3.1.9? I recall someone reported this soon after the release and I patched it and uploaded the files again. So re-downloading and deploying 2.3.1.9 should solve it or using the recent build from our Novell Forge download page. I just tested a new install of 2.3.1.9 from the Web App Gallery and it does not produce this problem.

Best,

Joe

Re: Image gallery "bulk upload" link

Thanks Joe. Is it safe to deploy from the Novell site for production use? You mentioned that to me before but was skeptical just because it wasn't an official release ..... probably fine it sounds?

Re: Image gallery "bulk upload" link

I can never promise 0 issues but I think it should be fine, if you were to encounter any major issue with an interim build I promise to fix it and put up a new build within 24 hours max and sooner if possible.

I'm almost always running newer builds here on mojoPortal.com in order to shake out any issues.

I will probably put up a new build tomorrow morning because I'm finishing up the Newsletter improvements and want to make them available to get any feedback I can before the next official release.

Best,

Joe

Re: Image gallery "bulk upload" link

fyi, I just uploaded a new build on our Novell Forge download page, mojoportal-mssql-build-2009-10-29.zip

Both this site and demo.mojoportal.com are running this build, the only difference is that www.mojoportal.com uses MySql whereas demo.mojoportal.com uses MS SQL. I have only uploaded a build for MS SQL though.

Most of the main improvements for the newsletter have been implemented including a new Newsletter Sign Up feature that you can put on a page as I have done on our home page. It's also possible now to enable viewing of previously sent Newsletters as web pages. I have never yet sent a newsletter though I already have 426 subscribers. I plan to start using the Newsletter soon. If the user is not signed in then an email confirmation is sent and a link must be clicked to confirm the subscription. I'm sure there will be a lot of false submissions from web bots, I still need to implement a few things like an easy way to purge unverified records older than x days. The newsletter is only sent to verified addresses. There is also a nice new progress bar for showing the progress of mailing to a large list.

Its also possible to put <portal:Subscribe id="subscribe1" runat="server" /> in the layout.master file if you wanted the sign up on all pages. I will need to work on new documentation for the newsletter soon.

Best,

Joe
