Bug: content authors/publishers can't see page root

A fairly troublesome bug here: If an end user has the permissions of author/publisher and they go into the page settings for a page at the root level of the site they do NOT see "root" under the parent page drop-down. They instead ONLY see "Home" and not root which is where the page should be. The page appears to the user under home as well (incorrectly). Now, if the user then saves the page they then mess up their main navigation because the page moves from root to home.

Hope this makes sense. I just had a client completely rearrange their site on accident because they were trying to edit some pages and it switched them from root to home without their knowledge.

Thanks!!

Re: Bug: content authors/publishers can't see page root

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the bug report. I will fix this for the next release and will post here again when there is a preview of the next release available so you don't have to wait longer than needed to get the fix.

Best,

Joe

Re: Bug: content authors/publishers can't see page root

Hi Eric,

I've put up a build on our Novell Forge download page that has this bug fixed, mojoportal-mssql-buid-2009-10-17.zip

It will be fixed in the next official release as well but in case you need it fixed right away.

Best,

Joe

Re: Bug: content authors/publishers can't see page root

Thanks! This is very nice in that the bugs and suggestions we post in the forums often have a direct effect on the software and are quickly put into production. That's very rare. It's often rare to even be heard, and even if heard it typically takes a year or more for suggested changes to be put into effect and released.

MojoPortal is a real gem! People paying $40k for some CMS systems don't get the kind of quick turn-around on bugs and new features that Mojo does.
