Component creation

Okay - this is probably a very, very simple question but is there a quick start guide on creating components?

For instance, I want to create a very basic table view system.  A user logs in, goes to a page that has an ASP.Net control which goes to the database and identifies what the user can see.  Initially, I would like to just show 2 or 3 columns of information.

This sounds basic, but I come from a Windows/ERP world and it's been years since I've done JavaScript so I am really out of my depth.  All the mojo controls (like combo) seem to have mostly JavaScript.  I'm hoping that there is some way of just doing basic data requests entirely in C#.

If not, then I'm at least hoping there is some type of documentation.  There probably is, and it's probalby easy to find I'm probably just not searching on the right keywords.

Also - I'm assuming that anyone that creates components for Mojo Portal must be meeting some type of framework standards - were do I find those?

Thank you in advance

Philip

Re: Component creation

I recommend you start with reading the Developer Documentation, especially the Hello World Example

Developing a content feature starts with a UserControl, what you do or what conventions you follow inside that UserControl is entirely up to you. If you want to follow the conventions that I use in development then you should study the source code. There are plenty of examples of how to do almost anything you will typically need to do in development in existing feature code, so the source code itself is the best learning tool and is itself the best developer documentation.

Hope it helps,

Joe
