The project type is not supported by this installation

Hi,

I downloaded mojoPortal 2.2.7.9 (last version targeting only the 2.0 NET).

When I open mojoportal-complete.sln in VS2008 + SP I'm getting "The project type is not supported by this installation" error for 6 projects.

I tried mojoportal-complete-vs2005.sln in VS2005 and it works fine.

Do I have to install something more for VS2008?

It doesn't sound like you have VS 2008 SP1, I would try installing the service pack 1 again.

Its also possible there are prototype things in the complete.sln that target .NET 3.5 but could possibly be removed from the solution, you didn't mention which specific projects it complained about.

Hi Joe,

I did reinstall SP1 for VS2008 and get windows update but I'm still getting errors on next projects:

mojoPortal.Features.UI, mojoPortal.Web, SampleExternalModule, SiteOffice.ExternalMail, SiteOffice.UI, WebStore.UI.

I also have 3.5 .NET framework SP1 so I'm not sure what can be a problem. Do you have any other idea?

Fortunately I have both VS2005 and VS2008 and VS2005 solution works grate, so I can continue with work without any problems.
