admin pages don't work in additional sites

admin pages don't work in additional sites

Hi all-
I set up the portal and everything seems to be running fine. I can login, create content, create new sites, etc.  The only problem is that Admin pages in the secondary sites work intermittently.  Sometimes I can login and the admin pages show the correct view and data, and other times it just cycles the page back to the home page.  I have three sites and can usually login to any two and edit the site by the Admin pages, but the third will just redirect me back to the home page for that site.  It's not always the same site that won't work. 

Please let me know if anyone else has experienced this or knows what might be going on.

My Build Info:
Windows XP Pro
.NET 2.x
SQL 2005
VS 2005

using host headers with my host file updated.

Hi Jason,

I will look into this over the weekend and see if I can reproduce it. The one thing that comes to mind is if all 3 sites are in the same domain like
host1.domain1.com
host2.domain1.com
host3.domain1.com

then they may be sharing a cookie in which case you need to only login to one at a time and logout of one before logging into another

if they are different domains then they should be completely independent other than the first site being the master site is able to edit the admin settings for any of the sites.

Hi Joe-
I do have each site set up as you mentioned.  I'll try logging out of each site before logging in to another one to see if that helps.  If not, I'll change the domain names to be completely different and see if that helps.  Either way I'll post back.  Thanks for the quick response!

Hey Joe,
I tried explicityl logging off each site before logging in and that seemed to solve the problem. i'll be working with domain names that are not alike so I don't think this will present much of a problem in the future.  Thanks for your suggestion and looking in this for me.
