Importing News Items

Importing News Items

I'm going to import content from an existing site and want to be sure I have my bases covered.  First up are news items, for which I'm using the blog module.  I don't have any categories or comments on these, so am I correct in assuming that I just need to create a row in mp_Blogs, a corresponding row in mp_FriendlyURLs and then increment EntryCount in mp_BlogStats?
