I've seen those too and suspect it would not be difficult to implement but its not a current priority for me. It would be nice if someone in the community would implement a Twitter module, if not I may eventually get to it. I am living on savings and focusing on things that can increase revenue, so my efforts are currently directed at building a few more products to sell in the store. My next products will be Fund Raiser Pro and Web Invoice Pro, a couple of niche e-commerce features.

Yeah, you're right. Here is a google gadget that you can get embed code for and then paste into an html module using source view in the editor.
