Paste From Word Problem

While editing content, I used to be able to click the Paste from Word icon.  This icon is now always disabled.

I have this problem on my domain and localhost.  I went to another computer and it works properly.  Therefore, the problem must be on my computer.

I have installed software recently on my computer which probably changed something.  Do you have any idea where I should look?  I do not want to remove my new software as it is working properly but it would be really nice to have Paste from Word working again on my main computer.

Its hard to imagine how software installed on your machine could disable the button though I suppose anything is possible. I could see how it could block the popup if you have any browser toolbars installed.

What I would try first is open your browser and go to google, don't have any tabs open with your sites yet.

Clear the browser cache of all cached content.

Now visit your site and see if the problem persists.

If it persists try a different browser to see if it happens in all browsers. If you normally use IE try Firefox, or vice versa.

It is not the Pop Up.  The Word Paste Icon and the Paste as Plain Text, Cut, Copy, Paste are Disabled.  I usually use IE 7 so I switched to Firefox.  It does not work in Firefox either.

When I first get to the editor, the icons are enabled while the page is loading.  Then, the icons become disabled.  When I click inside the edit area, only the Printer icon becomes enabled.  The Word Paste ,Paste as Plain Text, Cut, Copy, Paste all remain disabled.

I do not understand.  I studied the fckeditor and the javascript.  I did not see anything that should stop it from working.  I tried it again in IE 7 and now it works.  I tried Firefox and it works.  I had been using a genealogy site which uses java script and ajax heavily.  Maybe something got cached and now it is clear?  I will keep my eye open to see if it happens again.
