Skins on Mono Vs .NET

mojoPortal is no longer supported on mono. This forum is here for archival purposes.

Skins on Mono Vs .NET

Are there any tweaks to enable css style menus in Mono yet ? (svn trunk/next version)  or Mono (svn/nightly builds) ?

I've ported my site to mono and its working perfectly..

The only visible difference is the top menu looks different on the same theme (due to the css issue ?)

Thanks

Andrew

Re: Skins on Mono Vs .NET

Yes, it works using Mono built from svn. It doesn't work in the released version of Mono. I'm not sure about nightly builds as I've never used them.

Best,

Joe

Thanks for the quick reply..

Do you need to tweak anything in the Web.config ? To tell mojoportal that mono has the feature available ?

Regards

Andrew

Re: Skins on Mono Vs .NET

Thanks... Joe...

I grabbed Mono 1.9 (trunk 105750) and compiled..

And all is working 100% now. The top menu looks the same again.

I've now ported my site from windows to linux/mono and changed my DNS records.

CastleSoft is now hosted on Linux/Mono..

Re: Skins on Mono Vs .NET

Awesome! Glad to hear it worked out. Mono is really getting there. I'm looking forward to the first offical release that has the support for CSS Control Adpaters which is the part that makes the menu render correctly. Thats when mojoPortal will be a good option for the linux masses. Building Mono from sources is only for the brave few.

Cheers,

Joe

Oh, yes, for the brave.... Since a version in June there are serious problems with Mono compiled from daily snapshots of svn . Hope, that with 2.0 release introduction there will not be need to use svn. If Joe doesn't plan some Silverlight gadgets in nearest future, of course...
