I'm open to replacing colorbox with a better one. Fancybox looks nice but has an unfortunate non-commercial license, which makes it unsuitable for baking it into mojoPortal.

If you find something equally suitable with a better license let me know and I'll be glad to have a look.

From a quick google it looks like there may be some things we can do to make colorbox more responsive. I'll see what I can do.

Just to give you a bit of history, Colorbox was was added to mojoPortal in 2011 (version 2.3.6.4) to replace Greybox, which had gotten seriously long in the tooth. At that time Joe and I went through and evaluated a number of lightbox libraries, but as Joe said we're constrained to using those that are open source and have an appropriate license, which eliminated a lot of contenders. You can get an idea of the licenses that will be acceptable by looking at the mojoPortal license page.

I've completed the changes to make colorbox responsive in our image gallery feature. It is in the source code repository now so it will be in the next release. you can also check it out on our demo site, I just tested it there with my iphone and it seems to work pretty well.
