Add new link to TOP NAV ?

Add new link to TOP NAV ?

Hi ,

Any one know the best way to add a new link item to the top nav in layout.master ? currently have(Home Site Map Search Member List My Account Sign Out)

 any simple way , just need to add in the item link into a config file ? or i need to create the control to add in manually ?
