Blocked users still receive newsletter

Blocked users still receive newsletter

Hi,

I have blocked some users so they cannot access the Portal (but they are not deleted from the system).

I have noticed that, although blocked, they are still subscribed to the newsletters and they receive them. Is this correct or is it a bug? I would prefer if blocked users could be automatically excluded from the addressee lists, and reinstated if I unblock them.

Site registration and newsletter subscription are 2 different things. A person does not need to be a registered site member in order to sign up for a newsletter though they can sign up for the newsletter as part of the site registration process.

You can remove the subscription by looking up the user in the newsletter administration and you can also unsubcribe a user from the same page where you can lock his account, on the newsletter subscriptions tab, but it does not happen automatically by locking an account.

Thank you for your explanation.

I had assumed that "blocking" a user meant "we no longer want to have business with you", that is, "you cannot access our site and you are removed from our activities".

Note to myself: when I block a user, I also need to check his/her subscriptions. Noted! Occhiolino
