Media attachments in the blog

Hello,

I was installed the last version 2.3.9.3 in Localhost for testing new facilities but in blog posts, file attachment does not work correctly, after Browse a file and click on Upload button the first tab of New blog post (Editor Tab) appear to me.

There is not any error message for this issue and I can not understand what are problem details.

Re: Media attachments in the blog

Are you saving the blog post before adding the attachment?

What kind of file are you trying to attach? Its meant for media files ie .mp3

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Media attachments in the blog

I finally got an MP3 file attachment, Which type of media file supported in attachment of blog post? Is limited in file Size?

Some times the following error appeared to me:

Maximum request length exceeded.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Maximum request length exceeded.

Re: Media attachments in the blog

The allowed file types come from the web.config setting for AllowedMediaFileExtensions

but even that allows files you probably should not use. The main purpose of the media attachments is to support the iTunes extensions in the feed.

You don't need to use media attachments if you just want to link to files, you can do that right in the content using the link toolbar item in the editor allows browsing the server and linking to files.

As far as size limitations, by default IIS limits it to about 4MB but you can allow larger files, see the article Supporting Large File Uploads

Hope that helps,

Joe
