Unable to clone source code using TortoiseHG

Unable to clone source code using TortoiseHG

Hello,

I have been trying to Clone the source code using TortoiseHG.  Getting the following log:

% hg clone --rev 0 --verbose -- https://hg.codeplex.com/mojoportal .
adding changesets
adding manifests
adding file changes
transaction abort!
rollback failed - please run hg recover

I am trying to clone from Revision 0, as this was suggested if having trouble.  I have also tried following all the suggestions on the mojoPortal site page regarding what to try if not working (use hardwired connection, disable antivirus, try during off-hours, etc) to no avail.  I have also posted this information on codeplex site.

I have a project to add new functionality to mojoPortal, so as to take advantage of it's CMS ability and built-in functionality.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!  Thanks again, Dan.

Hi,

We periodically have some problems with the codeplex repository. I would just keep trying every so often, it usually resolves itself.

Hi Joe,

I have continued to try, but keep having the same problem.  I was hesitant to use the downloadable zip file from codeplex since you advise against that in your documentation.  Is there another way to obtain a valid copy of the latest source?  My purpose is to add 2 new functions on top of the CMS for a project I'm working on.

Hi Dan,

I just did a clone to see if it would give me any trouble, it worked fine for me.

Make sure you are cloning from https://hg.codeplex.com/mojoportal

​That is an updated url, a while back the url was https://hg01.codeplex.com/mojoportal but they changed it not long ago at codeplex.

Hi Joe,

Been meaning to follow-up, to let you know that it turned out the problem was that I was saving to a flash drive.  Once I cloned to an internal hard drive it worked.
