What happens to the Sites Folder?

When posting in this forum, please try to provide as many relevant details as possible. Particularly the following:

  • What operating system were you running when the bug appeared?
  • What database platform is your site using?
  • What version of mojoPortal are you running?
  • What version of .NET do you use?
  • What steps are necessary to reproduce the issue? Compare expected results vs actual results.

What happens to the Sites Folder?

Hi, I am about to upgrade from version 2.3.6.6 to 2.3.8.5 on a windows 2003 server using MSSQL

I get the file copying and running the scripts, but what happens to all of the sites i have built and the data in the Sites folder? Should I coppy that back in when i am done upgrading?

We don't touch any of the files in the /Data/Sites folder during upgrades.

All you need to do is restore any customizations from your old Web.config (such as machinekey) to the new one.

It is a good idea to back up the entire site filesysem and database before upgrading so that if anything were to go wrong you can restore, but generally upgrades work smoothly.

Before upgrading, you may also want to review the release notes for all versions between your current version and the latest version.
