Question about sitemenu

hi.

I have been facing a problem for sometime and don't know what is the cause.

any help is appreciated.

sometimes the sitemenu control without any change in code, renders itself as a table. (the full code on the bottom).

but it gets fixed by itself and I wonder how and why.

also no exception is thrown.

what can be the cause?

Is this in your development environment? Do you use optimizeCompilations="true" in your web.config?

I am not 100% sure, but this sounds a lot like an issue that I experience at times when using optimizeCompilations="true" in my web.config for my development environment. You can check out my full notes on the blog entry I wrote about this.
