reorganizing of a shared-files instance

I have a page with a links section and a shared files section below that. I want to split the page into two pages. Is there a way to move a section that is already created to another page? If not what procedure would you recommend?

Thanks

Ed

Re: reorganizing of a shared-files instance

This is a core benefit of using a CMS, and can be done quite easily with Content Manager. Go to Administration, Content Manager. Find the feature you want to move in the list, and click the Publish/Delete link. You can then add it to the new page, and delete it from the old using the buttons in the Published column.

Re: reorganizing of a shared-files instance

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I knew I didn't want to delete it, but I didn't connect the term Publish with that capability so I hadn't checked it out.

Re: reorganizing of a shared-files instance

maybe this is somewhat related, so I'll add it to this thread...

is there a way to have only one subdirectory of files available on one page, and another subdirectory on another?  (instead of listing all shared files for example...)

Re: reorganizing of a shared-files instance

Hi,

No, one module instance can't split on two CMS page. I  think what you need is categorize your files. If so you can create some folders and upload files into them.

It is better that start new question in a new thread.

hope Helps,

Asad

Re: reorganizing of a shared-files instance

You can have multiple instances of Shared Files, either together on one page or on separate pages. Then just upload one subdirectory's files into each instance. But as Asad said, each individual instance of Shared Files will only "know" about the files you upload into it, not what's in the others.
