Using second database to authenticate?

Hello!

For an internal area, we need to authenticate users, which are stored in another database which has nothing to do with mojoPortal. The Users should be able to read the hidden contents in mojoPortal.

Trying to insert the username and passwort in the mojoPortal-Database seems not working (we've only username and password).

Is there any other possibility to authenticate the users with a role of mojoportal (only reading)?

I wouldn't recommend trying to populate the user database with SQL tools, since there's no documented method to do that.

If I understand correctly what you are trying to do, you could either authenticate them through LDAP, or have them self the site to establish a mojoPortal user ID, then assign them a role in mojoPortal that allows access to your secured area.
