I'd actually tried to hack something like Markitup! or wmd into mojoPortal but didn't have the wherewithal to see it through. Now I notice Markitup! is available for mobile viewers (although I guess that's been superseded by the WYSIWYGs).
I'd like to play with Markitup! all the same. How would I go about enabling it for the regular site?

You can set your site to use TextArea for the editor then on <portal:ScriptLoader in your layout.master file set IncludeMarkitUpHtml="true"
