HTML inside <asp:Panel

HTML inside <asp:Panel

Hi! I posted this here rather than elsewhere because my question pertains to the actual code of the .ascx pages -- I'm good with HTML but a terrible newbie with ASP.net so I don't really understand too well how the various parts work, but I'm wondering if ordinary HTML can be put inside the <asp:Panel ...>...</asp:Panel> tags.  What with all the <div> tags everywhere, it does appear to be HTML inside it, along with the other asp code -- what I'm trying to do is get the "addthis" button and the comment link (in the blog feature) on the same line -- either by enclosing them inside another div with a 100% width attribute, or even with a simple table.  It just looks funny to me, to have them on opposite sides but not on the same line -- they should be even.

Is this possible, or goofy, or... what?  And I'm sorry for asking such a newbie question, but I gotta learn somehow. wink

Hi Andria,

Yes, you can use html markup inside <asp:Panel, it just must be valid markup in the context of the entire page, so you can't add like an extra html or body tag, but just about any other valid elements can be used.

To make a block element stay on the same line with inline elements you could style it with

display:inline;
