migrate mojoportal sites

Hi.

We have multiple mojoportal sites but all of them have an own mojoportal installation. we want to work with 1 mojoportal installation and host mappings.
but we have to migrate the site's and all of it's pages to the new database. So my question was did someone ever made an application to do this?

Thanks

Laurence Mommers

Re: migrate mojoportal sites

Hi Laurence,

I haven't heard of anyone doing this. Usually people want to split sites into separate databases, not merge them into one. Splitting sites into new databases is difficult enough, I am confident that merging them is even more difficult.

May I ask why you want to do this? My company hosts a lot of mojoPortal sites so I may have another solution for you if you can tell me what your ultimate goal is.

Thanks,
Joe D.

Re: migrate mojoportal sites

hi,

we did this because we make several custom modules and don't want to update every module on every site each time we make a new version,

now we only have to replace the files in one installation and it will work on all hosted sites. that's why we want to move our other mojoportal installations to one installation to make the Management easier

Thanks,
Laurence Mommers

Hi Laurence,

I have a potential solution for you that may make your life easier without merging the sites. Send me an email at joe (at) i7media (dot) net.

Thanks,
Joe
