You can monitor commits to the repository from this page. We also recommend developers to subscribe to email notifications in the developer forum as occasionally important things are announced.

Microsoft Ajax Templates

What are your thoughts on using MicrosoftAjax and MicrosoftAjaxTemplates for the client-side templating?

They seem a bit bulky and I'm actually having trouble getting them to work in a user control with ScriptManagerProxy.

Have you personally had any luck with them?  Would you say it's a bit bulky? 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have not tried them myself and don't plan to. Microsoft is actually contributing development effort of a templating system for jQuery that will become part of jQuery and that will probably be the best one once it is included in jQuery.

Until then, there are some decent approaches to templating reviewed in this blog post by Rick Strahl. You could work with the stuff Microsoft is developing by getting it from github, but it is subject to change which may make it a less ideal choice for now.

Yes, I've read the article by Stephen Walther before.

 

I've decided to go with jquery-tmpl.
