External Data based on logged in Username ?

External Data based on logged in Username ?

I have a requirement to display some data (based on who is logged in) from a database.

My first thought was to hack a asp.net page with a 'Get param..' etc.

Then display this using an iFrame in the content panel.

Is there a better way ? And can I get access to the logged in username from the iFrame content ?

If the iframe is a .net page in the same domain you should be able to get the user name using Page.Request.User.Identity.Name if the user is authenticated.

Else you would have to get it from the page containing the iframe and pass it in as a query string param
