I will change this for the next release so that content templates are enabled in the blog. My reason for not enabling it originally was because the templates with javscript widgets like jquery tabs and accordion will not work in outbound RSS feeds so I did not want to encourage use of those templates in the blog. However since content templates can be used for more than just widgets I guess it will be better to enable it, but I'm sure after doing this someone will complain because the widgets don't work in the feed and this is not a solvable problem.
