Ubuntu 6.06, Apache2, mojoPortal

Hello,

I just got my home website running mojoPortal on Ubuntu :)

I know very little about linux and apache and asp, so the last 2 weeks have been very interesting.
I am not putting a link to my site as it is running on a spare pc in my house, over a dynamic adsl connection and it will likely be off most of the time.

I am going to try building a data connection for Firebird for use with mojoPortal, will send code and scripts if it gets done.

P.S. Notes about installation:
The compiling mono page needs updating to include the building of libgdiplus as it is used to manipulate images when uploading.
A simple, single Apache2 host file for mojoportal would also be nice, maby the Ubuntu apache config is different but It took quite a while to get Apache working.

Re: Ubuntu 6.06, Apache2, mojoPortal

Hi Gareth,

Glad to hear it!

Do you plan to maintain the Firebird data layer over time as changes are made to mojoPortal? I think it would be great to support Firebird but I already maintain 4 data layers and just can't handle more myself. An initial implementation will be great either way but if you're willing to take ownership of maintaining it that would be ideal, otherwise we can see if anyone else wants to step up and keep it going after your initial version.

Would you like to contribute a little tutorial to this site for Ubuntu setup? I could easily setup a private page for you to edit and make it public once you are happy with it. We could have your sample apache configuration either inline or as a downloadable sample, that would be very good.

Cheers,

Joe
