RolesThatCanManageUsers ?

Hi everyone, or anyone reading this. Can someone tell me in which version the <add key="RolesThatCanManageUsers" value="" /> functionality was first implemented in? We're trying to tighten up a few of our sites and revoke Site Admin priviledges. But, some of the sites still require manual creation of members. So, I'm trying to set up the RolesThatCanManageUsers key so that Content Administrators can add users.

Hi,

As of version 2.3.1.5 this has been moved from Web.config into (Key icon) > Site Settings > Security Tab > Permissions Tab > Roles that can create users.

Can you tell me the release that the RolesThatCanManageUsers functionality first came into existence?

Or, perhaps a better question; can I add the <add key="RolesThatCanManageUsers" value="Content Administrators" /> key to the web.config file on a 2.2.8.2 MSSQL site and get the functionality out of it?

I don't remember which version it was first included in, but if that key is not already in your web.config file then it probably is not implemented in your version.

Why not just upgrade to the latest version where this is now in site settings.
