If you have questions about using mojoPortal, you can post them here.
You may want to first review our site administration documentation to see if your question is answered there.
In Google Webmaster tools it asks for the url of the sitemap so it can easily index a website. I pointed it to the Mojo generated sitemap and it came back with the following error:
Unsupported file format Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit
I think it would be useful if mojo could automatically generate an XML sitemap in the root so we can send it to google. I think it would be simple enough to automatically create xml-sitemap.html in the root which adheres to the google guideline.
Anyone agree or am I missing something?
You must be doing something wrong...
My main sitemap:
Sitemap type Format Total URLs in Sitemap Indexed URLs in Sitemap Submitted Last downloaded by Google Status Web Sitemap 5 5 Sep 21, 2008 May 16, 2009 OK
My blog sitemap:
Sitemap type Format Total URLs in Sitemap Indexed URLs in Sitemap Submitted Last downloaded by Google Status Web Sitemap 62 60 Apr 12, 2009 May 15, 2009 OK
I think you must have submitted the site map page and not the google site map. After looking around I realized I have never created a documentation page about how to submit your site map to google. I think I made a blog post about it way back but that is not easy to find. So I created a new document here:
http://www.mojoportal.com/search-engine-optimization.aspx
Hope it helps,
Joe
That worked great - thanks.
