  • What operating system were you running when the bug appeared?
  • What database platform is your site using?
  • What version of mojoPortal are you running?
  • What version of .NET do you use?
  • What steps are necessary to reproduce the issue? Compare expected results vs actual results.

The resource cannot be found (running Setup/Default.aspx

Operating System: Windows Server 2003
Database Platform: mssql
mojoPortal Version: 2.2.9.6

Ok, this should be an easy one.  I am using 1and1 hosting (business plan).  I have a database setup and updated the config file.  All the files have been uploaded.  However, when I go to Setup/Default.aspx, I get the following error message:

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /Setup/Default.aspx

 

I am probably missing something simple.  However, I am not an aspx guy, so I really don't know where to start.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

You need ASP.NET 3.5 SP1, sadly I'm pretty sure 1and1.com does not provide that yet in their shared hosting plans. They are good for dedicated servers, in fact this site is running on one of their dedicated server plans, but for shared hosting they seem really out of touch I'm sorry to say.

For shared hosting, DiscountASP or CrystalTech are ok.

Good Afternoon El Barton,

I have a new client that is currently with 1&1 and I'm looking at implementing mojoPortal for them.  I'm interested in what your results were with 1&1. Did you get mojoPortal up and running on 1&1?

Was it just a matter of getting the site configured for .NET 2.0 or does 1&1 really have problems hosting mojo?
