When logging in takes me back to homepage

When logging in takes me back to homepage

Hello everyone..

Ok..Finally I got everything installed and setup..

But for some reason. once I try to login by entering the default admin username and password.

Once I submit that, it takes me back to the homepage, without logging me in???

Did anyone experience that??

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most likely something is blocking the cookie. Do you have any kind of browser toolbars or privacy guard software of any kind installed? I would try it from another machine(s) to see if the problem is limited to your machine.

Or at some really bad/cheap hosting places they force an html frameset around your site so they can add advertising and it blocks you from setting cookies, because you can't set cookies inside a frame unless the container page is using the same domain.

But here is another question for U..

How come a regular asp.net membership login page, is working fine..

on the same site...

Is it the fact i setup the portal on http://sitename/portal

rather than the root?

Is there is a way to test this??

I would look in mp_users table and verify if the admin user was created and that the password is admin.

If for some reason the user doesn't exist, I would clean out the db and try running setup again.

How come a regular asp.net membership login page, is working fine..on the same site...

Most likely the Web.config file in that root site is interfering with mojoportal.

I made sure that all the accounts are valid..

And deleted all previous web.config...

So now on my hosting acct. we only have the mojo portal web.config..

Still no success...

Not sure why it is doing that...I can register, retrieve passwords via email, etc..

Except i cannot login :(

I would try putting mojoPortal in the root of your web and put the other app in a sub folder.
