How to make content section of a page invisible to non-auth users?

Hi, I've just now begun settings up my first site with mojoPortal so bare with me :) On my Home page I have three content sections, one in the middle and two to the right. Now I would like to make the contents to the right invisible for any user that is not logged in? How can I accomplish this? In other words, I wan't the page to be accessible to everyone and only hide some of the contents to unregistered users. Thanks!

Hi Robert,

Unfortunately this is not currently supported, but I will make an effort to get this implemented for the next release. Currently view permissions are set at the page level. I don't want to do role checks on every content item on a page, but I am willing to add support for Hide From Unauthenticated and perhaps Hide From Authenticated so that its also easy to remove content after the user signs in.

I suppose there currently is one workaround that would produce the same effect, but it would involve having 2 "Home Pages", one without the authenticated content on the right, you would go into Page Settings for this page and set it to "Hide From Authenticated". Then you would create another "Home" Page and set the view role to "Authenticated Users". So when the user logs in the first page dissapears and the second one appears.

Thanks for your reply, it would be truly great if hiding content item from authenticated/unauthenticated user would be implemented in the next release. Until then, thank you for the alternative solution this will be sufficient for now.

I implemented these hide options yesterday and they are now available in svn trunk, so if you are a developer able to build and deploy your own build, its available now. If not, you can be sure it will be in the next release since its already done. The new hide options appear on the General Tab in Feature settings.

I've just released mojoPortal 2.2.6.6 which includes this new options to hide from authenticated or hide from anonymous.
